The story
The Saga of Zorathion is a pixel-art action fantasy built under a strict 48-hour game jam clock. I owned design, engineering, and most of the art.
The core loop — exploration, combat, and a short boss arc — was wired up in Unity with C#, with sprite work done in Aseprite and incidental 3D props in Blender. The hardest calls were about scope: cutting ideas fast enough to ship a coherent build.
It took first place at the Rhodes Game Jam and is still playable in the browser via Unity Play.
Marks in the margin
- Built from empty project to playable in under 48 hours.
- Designed gameplay loop, controls, and encounter pacing.
- Hand-painted pixel assets in Aseprite; simple sculpts in Blender.
- Won the Rhodes Game Jam top prize.
